When we read the bible we see lives lived in many directions.  Lives are lived upward in our relationship to God and worship of Him; inward as we come to know ourselves and our purpose; outward in relationship with others and onward as we seek to impact the world around us.  At Vineyard Church of Delaware County, we hope that everyone is connecting (and growing) in each of those directions- they make up the life of a disciple.  Whether you are new to Jesus or have grown up in the faith, whether you are familiar with the Vineyard or visiting for the first time, we want you to be able to connect quickly.. 

We've tried to explain each of those connections a bit more below and, as best as we are able, hope that all of the ministries and opportunities at the church move people forward in their life as a follower of Jesus.  If you have any questions about how to get connected, please call the church (740-965-8888).

Connect with God

We believe at the core of every human being is a desire to know and to be known by the Creator of the universe.  We also believe that in Jesus Christ the fullness of God is revealed and that it is through Jesus that our connection with God is established.  We want to be a church where people regularly connect with God through both intimacy and dependency.  We don't need to pretend or put on masks, but rather we can "come as we are" and be welcomed and loved by God.

Connect with our Calling

As John Wimber, the founder of the Vineyard movement, used to say,   "Everyone gets to play!"  We don't believe that ministry and service are reserved for the "superchristian" or paid professionals, but rather we all have gifts and talents that have been given to bless others.  We believe that each person is created in the image of God and have not only a unique design, but a unique purpose as well. The work of the church, as we see it, is to equip people for that purpose.

Connect with the Church

We believe that God has provided the church to be an extended family, a place of community and support as we journey through life together.  We gather together in large and small settings to encourage one another through the things the life brings - the joys and sorrows, the ups and downs.  The church is also the contetxt to serve and discover what God has made us for.  Through service in the local church, we are participating in God's plan to reconcile the world to Himself.

Connect to the World

We believe that the church is not just a good social club or an institution that exists only for it's members.  Rather, we believe that it is through the church that God desires to impact the world and reveal His plans and purposes.  For all time, God's people have been challenged to be a blessing to their families, friends, communities and cities.  We desire to impact Sunbury, Delaware County, Ohio and beyond as we display God's love and actively seek to bless those who cross our paths.
